The Kyosho Gallop was the pipe frame bodied  "brother" to the Progress. This was the continuation of an early tradition of Japanese manufacturers - particularly Kyosho, who would offer both a "body" and a "frame" type body on a particular chassis.

More than just the brother to the progress, the Gallop actually incorporated a few extra pieces of equipment that helped the car out on the track! The Gallop still retained the 4 wheel steering, and the mono-shock front suspension system.

The most significant change for the Gallop was the inclusion of a front differential. This made a world of difference to the "twitchy" nature of the chassis at speed.....and certainly made it more predictable on the track.

Not a whole lot else was really different about the Gallop - other than the addition of the "sexy" pipe framed body.......with "aerodynamics" in off road vehicles still a "bit of a joke" - the Gallop was one of the first to have a really significant wing......perhaps that added to the stability as well !

Still equipped with the industry standard Mabuchi RS-540 , the gallop still cried out for ball racing - something that was first on the agenda for most racers.

More details and pictures to come soon of the Gallop.
